A Mentorship That Spanned Decades
Fernando Halfeld and Fabiano Silva’s journey goes back over a decade when they first met in their hometown of Juiz de Fora, Brazil. Despite the age gap, a strong mentorship blossomed, with Silva being an influential figure in Halfeld’s life. Now, the roles have reversed, with Halfeld returning the favor and inviting Silva to teach Muay Thai in the United States.
From Fighter to Coach: A Remarkable Transformation
Fabiano Silva’s own journey as a fighter is nothing short of legendary. He was a black belt competitor, securing three Brazilian Muay Thai championships, four Minas Gerais state titles, and an impressive record of 22 wins in 26 professional matches. Since then, he has seamlessly transitioned into a sought-after Muay Thai coach.
Muay Thai Revolution in Lake Jackson
Since joining our team, Silva has hosted around eight classes a week, sometimes coaching twice a day. Several of our students at the School of Jiu-Jitsu have already competed in Muay Thai events under Silva’s guidance, marking the beginning of a thrilling Muay Thai revolution in Lake Jackson.
The Impact on Our Students

From Novice to Champion: The Silva Effect
As Javier San Miguel testifies, Silva’s unique ability to teach and understand the sport from a champion’s perspective is truly exceptional. “Not everyone who is good at a sport can coach, but thank God he can do both.”
San Miguel’s journey doesn’t end at Muay Thai; he’s ventured into various disciplines, including boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, and even MMA. Silva’s teachings have paved the way for students like San Miguel and Marcelo Acosta Ruiz to compete at the MG Fighting competition.
A Family at the School of Jiu-Jitsu
